Amy Veale LPN
Co-Educator FCN (Clinical)
Amy Veale has been in the field of health care since 1999. She has a dedication and pursuit for knowledge and healing. She first trained in England in Indian Head Massage and Massage Therapy and practiced until she moved back to Canada in 2001. Amy continued her studies in Kelowna BC, first in Aromatherapy and Reflexology, then completed the Natural Health Practitioner and Day Spa Practitioner Diploma programs, graduating in 2003.
Amy Veale furthered her training in health care, training as a yoga teacher, graduating in 2005. She worked as an esthetician, massage practitioner, and yoga instructor until 2007 when her daughter came into the world. After experiencing the incredible support and care of the nurses at the hospital and with moral support from her spouse and closest friend, Amy decided to enter the world of nursing and trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse, graduating in 2009.
Amy began working in Long Term Care immediately and also worked casually at the local Hospital in Nelson BC. She was inspired to change careers into foot care nursing after getting to know another foot care nurse who supported and encouraged her to take the course. Foot care seemed like a natural fit and Amy has enjoyed every minute of it, opening Nelson Foot Care in 2017.
Already an experienced Foot Care Nurse, Amy refreshed her theoretical knowledge by completing Foot Canada Training's Online Foot Care Nurse Theory course in December 2018. She also completed the Foot Care Nurse Preceptor in March of this year and plans to complete the Foot Care Nurse Educator course shortly. Amy is excited to be co-teaching the Onsite Foot Care Nurse Clinical course in Nelson BC with Cindy Lazenby is summer. Amy looks forward to offering ongoing foot care training opportunities to nurses in British Columbia. She feels honoured and privileged to be able to now support other nurses to become a part of this amazing health care field.
