Foot Care Kingston's Director, Cindy Lazenby, has recently moved across the country to the mountain town community of Nelson, British Columbia. Having built a strong team in Ontario, Foot Care Kingston will continue to work closely with its Ontario Education Partners to offer our ever-expanding selection of nursing foot care continuing education courses, workshops and conferences. With Cindy now in BC, we will be bringing some of these same education opportunities to Cindy's new home province, and are excited to announce new course locations in Castlegar/Nelson, Kitimat, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Williams Lake

Cindy is no stranger to BC, having already taught the clinical portion of the Foot Care Nurse course in Kitimat earlier this year. More information on this will be provided in our 2019 newsletters. In the meantime, we invite experienced Foot Care Nurses interested in teaching opportunities in BC and other locations across Canada to have a look at the Join our Team and Options to Collaborate pages of the Foot Care Kingston website, and contact us for more information.

Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses' (CAFCN) FCN Course Approval Is Coming Soon!!

Did you know that the CAFCN's Education Committee has been working on an approval process for Foot Care Nurse courses for almost a year now? As announced in May 2018 at the CAFCN AGM in Regina SK, this new process is expected to offer the opportunity for education providers from across Canada to apply for course approval and is likely to be the precursor to CAFCN's national FCN certification. No details of the process have been released publicly yet, and so we await with excitement for more information to officially released. In the meantime, Foot Care Kingston has continued its efforts to make yearly revisions to align our course curriculum and exit competencies with the CAFCN's National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada (2017).

As an active member of CAFCN since its inception, I feel very proud to have been part of this exciting journey to support the advancement and development of nursing foot care courses and skills across Canada.
